GTA ratio
gearbox expertly built by Bob Dove using reproduction GTA
gear ratios manufactured in Italy by specialist transmission
company. Original box came from a 1975 105 series 1600 GT
Junior (hydraulic clutch) and has been totally rebuilt with
new synchro rings , lay shaft bearing , main shaft bearing
, fifth gear bearing and input shaft bearing (the expensive
one). Front and rear oil seals have also been replaced. Gearbox
mounting bush replaced with early 101 type mounting (stiffer
than later type 105 mounting) and fitted with Autodelta style
aluminium stiffening plugs to firm it up even further.
Gear ratios are as per original GTA (1st : 2.536 , 2nd : 1.701
, 3rd : 1.256 , 4th : 1.000 & 5th : 0.856). Built in July
2007 (Millers CRX80W/90 Semi Synthetic gear oil used during
rebuild) and never used - complete with the
two gear lever circular sliding plates along with the rubber
seal and retaining washer that sits on top and comes stamped
with Bob Dove build number on casing.
